Getting settled back into my Bowling Green home for the winter. I think this will be home again, for a while.
Projects:
Beryl, a vintage Airstream, and
A consultancy based on Strategic Doing, and
Yet another round of smallification
Last summer, after my trek along the length of US1, I spent about 13 weeks living on Little Duck Pond. Here are some notes on that interval.

If you’re looking for the log of my recent journey along the length of US1, you’ll find it here.
I actually do have projects going on while soaking up the delights of Maine in the summer:
- Creating my retirement homeS
- Living at LittleDuckPond in the Oyster is helping me understand how a nomadic life might work out for me
- Seeking a builder for the ADU at Arrowhead (almost) Acre, so that it will be ready for me when I am done roamin’
- Following the progress of two cooperative housing projects in Portland, just in case we can’t make the ADU work out.
- Exploring the purchase of a vintage (1974) Airstream, for hospitality and a home base in south-central Kentucky
- Partnering with friends to create an AirBnB on the banks of the Holston River in Knoxville—BigOrange country
- (thinking about) Designing a panelized version of Deek Diedricksen’s shape-changing AFrame
- Making and belonging at Factory3, a makerspace in Portland.
- Harvesting material from my collection of notebooks to form the foundation of my Zettelkasten
- Documenting my experiences on my recent trip along the length of US1. (the abbreviated log is here.)
- Creating online courses
- smallify u
- Turbocharge Your Study Time
- Solar Energy Basics for Campers (I will be test-driving this IRL at the annual Intech Flyers Gatthering at LandBetweenTheLakes in October)
- Learning watercolor and drawing
- Programming with JN
plus seeing Maine friends, learning to paddle, picking blueberries, eating seafood, visiting the ocean, … all the Maine things.
