I didn’t really have a plan for Wilmington. Didn’t even think about it as I drove through all the MyrtleBeach … what could you call that? … the MyrtleBeach noise. And after I got settled into the very welcoming AirBnB, I realized that having no plan, not even a list of possibilities to consider, was pretty unsettling. My notes here suggested “finish the scanning project”, but that seemed inappropriate for a place full of history and rivers and a university campus. So I asked my host for suggestions, and I took “explore the Cargo District” as my plan. We could walk there, it promised interesting urban architecture and small businesses, and there was a bespoke grilled cheese shop for lunch. Sounded like a good start, and that plan was good enough for the whole rest of the day.
