Nearby Nashville is Music City, and some of the most creative people are the songwriters. And they play really well too. The way Nashville songwriters test out new ideas is to songwriters rounds, in which a few songwriters get together and take turns singing their own creations. The classic place for this is the Bluebird Cafe, but it also happens in Bowling Green, at Lost River Cave, organized and led by our own Dan Modlin.
Water Wheel Rounds
Well, in honor of the eclipse and your visit, we’re having a special Songwriters Round in Bowling Green, on Monday night (6pm) 21Aug, in the historic
Pioneer Log Cabin on WKU’s campus. There’s only room for 25 people, including the musicians, so this is special indeed!
So who’s gonna play? Here’s the intro from the guy who knows the songwriters, my friend Dan Modlin:
Nashville songwriters Paul Jefferson and Joe Hash will join Americana recording artist Dan Modlin of Modlin&Scott for a special Solar Eclipse Songwriter’s show. Paul has written hit songs for Aaron Tippin and Little Texas and wrote “You’re Not My God” with country superstar Keith Urban. Joe is a regular performer at top Nashville songwriting clubs and is a featured performer at this year’s Smoky Mountain Songwriter’s Festival. Dan’s Americana group hit the top five of the Air Play Direct Global Americana Top 50 chart eleven months ago with their release “One More Chance to Play.” This is an acoustic, listener friendly performance which will give those attending a chance to hear original songs, performed by the people who actually wrote them.
I’m just about as excited for this as I am for the eclipse!
